About the Orchards Holiday Park

This family owned park provides an opportunity to explore the beauty of the Isle of Wight or simply to relax and unwind in a delightful setting.

The Orchards has been a family owned holiday park for over 50 years. It was originally an orchard and was made into a camping and caravaning site by Malcolm Peplow, the previous owner. Some of our staff worked along side Malcolm for many years.Tim and Julie Gray and their 2 girls have owned The Orchards Holiday Park for 16 years. They bought the park because they always liked the Isle of Wight and have since grown to love it . Particularly West Wight with it's dramatic scenery and amazing sunsets.

The Orchards is dedicated to preserving the surrounding natural environment and as such has been commited to the ethos of The David Bellamy award for the last 21 years. We have been assessed every year, for our conservation efforts  and we have won 20 gold awards. The assessment includes our natural environment and it's suitability for insects and animals but also recycling, engaging with the community, limiting pollution and re-using materials.

This year with the help of our advisor from David Bellamy, we have been trying to do our bit for solitary bees, by putting up "Bee hotels" for them.  They are non aggressive and safe around children but provide an essential pollination service. They live in hollow tubes and make their own nests. They do not swarm and are very quiet.  Also this year, we are keeping the grass, at the edges of the touring area slightly longer to provide a habitat for insects.                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Set in fifteen acres of beautiful countryside, The Orchards is a AA five pennant park of exceptional standard. The 64 holiday caravans are set in a tranquil and spacious setting, all are very well equipped. Most with sensational views. The  160 marked touring and camping pitches are arranged on terraces and gently sloping meadows, broken up by trees and hedges, the majority with fantastic panoramic views of the rolling countryside that surrounds the park.
