The Facilities Centre was opened April 2009.
The building has been built to the highest specification and was designed to be sympathetic to the landscape and to take on the appearance of a barn construction. The inside of the centre is lit by low energy light lamps and are on sensors to only illuminate when guests are in the area. The building is kept beautifully warm by efficient under floor heating .
The water is heated by solar panels backed by the latest condensing oil-fired boilers. The showers are on a timer and taps are on a slow release mechanism, the urinals have systemisers controls to save water consumption. The insulation of the building is of the highest specification to make it as energy efficient as possible to reinforce our commitment to the environment being the 14th year we have been awarded:
